No one knows how old is Varanasi city? The most favorite city of Lord Shiva is timeless. It is said even during the ‘Pralaya’ ( The Dooms Day / The Final Annihilation of the world), Kashi still is not destroyed.
After the invention of photography , these Old pictures depict the few of the various important places in Varanasi.
Most of the pictures are between 1850 to 1875. This was the era when many great Siddha Saints blessed the soil of Varanasi. Trailang Swami, Baba Harihar Das, Lahiri Mahashay, Shri Yukteshwar Giri and many many more divine souls walked on this holy land. These pictures remind us of that era and gives a glimpse in the history.
