संत रविदास -एक दृढ निश्चयी हिन्दू ऋषि| Sant Ravidas-Enlightened & Determined Hindu Sage

जय भीम का नारा लगाने वाले दलित भाइयों को आज के कुछ राजनेता कठपुतली के समान प्रयोग कर रहे है। यह मानसिक गुलामी का लक्षण है। दलित-मुस्लिम गठजोड़ के रूप में बहकाना भी इसी कड़ी का भाग हैं। दलित समाज में संत रविदास का नाम प्रमुख समाज सुधारकों के रूप में स्मरण किया जाता हैं। आप जाटव या चमार कुल से सम्बंधित माने जाते थे। चमार शब्द चंवर का अपभ्रंश है।

चर्ममारी राजवंश का उल्लेख महाभारत जैसे प्राचीन भारतीय वांग्मय में मिलता है। प्रसिद्ध विद्वान डॉ विजय सोनकर शास्त्री ने इस विषय पर गहन शोध कर चर्ममारी राजवंश के इतिहास पर पुस्तक लिखा है। इसी तरह चमार शब्द से मिलते-जुलते शब्द चंवर वंश के क्षत्रियों के बारे में कर्नल टाड ने अपनी पुस्तक ‘राजस्थान का इतिहास’ में लिखा है। चंवर राजवंश का शासन पश्चिमी भारत पर रहा है। इसकी शाखाएं मेवाड़ के प्रतापी सम्राट महाराज बाप्पा रावल के वंश से मिलती हैं।

संत रविदास जी महाराज लम्बे समय तक चित्तौड़ के दुर्ग में महाराणा सांगा के गुरू के रूप में रहे हैं। संत रविदास जी महाराज के महान, प्रभावी व्यक्तित्व के कारण बड़ी संख्या में लोग इनके शिष्य बने। आज भी इस क्षेत्रा में बड़ी संख्या में रविदासी पाये जाते हैं।

उस काल का मुस्लिम सुल्तान सिकंदर लोधी अन्य किसी भी सामान्य मुस्लिम शासक की तरह भारत के हिन्दुओं को मुसलमान बनाने की उधेड़बुन में लगा रहता था। इन सभी आक्रमणकारियों की दृष्टि ग़ाज़ी उपाधि पर रहती थी। सुल्तान सिकंदर लोधी ने संत रविदास जी महाराज मुसलमान बनाने की जुगत में अपने मुल्लाओं को लगाया। जनश्रुति है कि वो मुल्ला संत रविदास जी महाराज से प्रभावित हो कर स्वयं उनके शिष्य बन गए और एक तो रामदास नाम रख कर हिन्दू हो गया।

सिकंदर लोदी अपने षड्यंत्रा की यह दुर्गति होने पर चिढ़ गया और उसने संत रविदास जी को बंदी बना लिया और उनके अनुयायियों को हिन्दुओं में सदैव से निषिद्ध खाल उतारने, चमड़ा कमाने, जूते बनाने के काम में लगाया। इसी दुष्ट ने चंवर वंश के क्षत्रियों को अपमानित करने के लिये नाम बिगाड़ कर चमार सम्बोधित किया। चमार शब्द का पहला प्रयोग यहीं से शुरू हुआ। संत रविदास जी महाराज की ये पंक्तियाँ सिकंदर लोधी के अत्याचार का वर्णन करती हैं।

वेद धर्म सबसे बड़ा, अनुपम सच्चा ज्ञान
फिर मैं क्यों छोड़ूँ इसे पढ़ लूँ झूठ क़ुरान
वेद धर्म छोड़ूँ नहीं कोसिस करो हजार
तिल-तिल काटो चाही गोदो अंग कटार

चंवर वंश के क्षत्रिय संत रविदास जी के बंदी बनाने का समाचार मिलने पर दिल्ली पर चढ़ दौड़े और दिल्लीं की नाकाबंदी कर ली। विवश हो कर सुल्तान सिकंदर लोदी को संत रविदास जी को छोड़ना पड़ा । इस झपट का ज़िक्र इतिहास की पुस्तकों में नहीं है मगर संत रविदास जी के ग्रन्थ रविदास रामायण की यह पंक्तियाँ सत्य उद्घाटित करती हैं;

बादशाह ने वचन उचारा । मत प्यादरा इसलाम हमारा ।।
खंडन करै उसे रविदासा । उसे करौ प्राण कौ नाशा ।।
जब तक राम नाम रट लावे । दाना पानी यह नहीं पावे ।।
जब इसलाम धर्म स्वीरकारे । मुख से कलमा आप उचारै ।।
पढे नमाज जभी चितलाई । दाना पानी तब यह पाई ।।

जैसे उस काल में इस्लामिक शासक हिंदुओं को मुसलमान बनाने के लिए हर संभव प्रयास करते रहते थे वैसे ही आज भी कर रहे हैं। उस काल में दलितों के प्रेरणास्रोत्र संत रविदास सरीखे महान चिंतक थे। जिन्हें अपने प्राण न्योछावर करना स्वीकार था मगर वेदों को त्याग कर क़ुरान पढ़ना स्वीकार नहीं था।

मगर इसे ठीक विपरीत आज के दलित राजनेता अपने तुच्छ लाभ के लिए अपने पूर्वजों की संस्कृति और तपस्या की अनदेखी कर रहे हैं।दलित समाज के कुछ राजनेता जिनका काम ही समाज के छोटे-छोटे खंड बाँट कर अपनी दुकान चलाना है अपने हित के लिए हिन्दू समाज के टुकड़े-टुकड़े करने का प्रयास कर रहे हैं।आइये डॉ अम्बेडकर की सुने जिन्होंने अनेक प्रलोभन के बाद भी इस्लाम और ईसाइयत को स्वीकार करना स्वीकार नहीं किया।

Sant Ravidas: An Enlightened & Determined Hindu Sage

Some politicians of today are using the slogan ‘Jay Bhim’ to mislead our dalit brothers. (I personally do not prefer Dalit word as they are same us but since this terem is being used as a ploy we need to denounce it). This is a sign of mental slavery. Pretention of Dalit-Muslim alliance is also part of this chain. In Dalit society, the name of Sant Ravidas is remembered as a major social reformer. Sant Ravidas was considered to belong to the Jatav or Chamar clan. The word Chamar eems to be an aberration of Chanwar.

The mention of the Charmmari dynasty is found in ancient Indian scriptures like Mahabharata. Famous scholar Dr. Vijay Sonkar Shastri has written a book on the history of Charmmari dynasty after doing extensive research on this subject. Similarly, Col Tad has written in his book ‘History of Rajasthan’ about the Kshatriyas of the Chanwar dynasty, similar to the word Chamar. The rule of the Chanwar dynasty has been over western India. Its branches date back to the dynasty of Maharaja Bappa Rawal, the legendary emperor of Mewar.

Sant Ravidas Ji Maharaj has stayed for a long time in the fort of Chittor as the Guru of Maharana Sanga. Due to the great, spiritual personality of Sant Ravidas Ji Maharaj, a large number of people became his disciples. Even today a large number of Ravidasis are found in this area near Chittor.

The Muslim Sultan of Delhi in that period, Sikandar Lodhi, was busy trying to convert the Hindus of India to Islam like other Muslim rulers. All these invaders were eyeing to achieve the title of Ghazi. Sultan Sikandar Lodhi engaged his mullahs to convert Sant Ravidas Ji Maharaj into Islam. It is known that the Peer(Mulsim scholor ) sent to convert Sant Ravidas Ji Maharaj ji, himself became his disciple and one became a Hindu by and named himself Ramdas.

Sikandar Lodi was enraged by this failure of his conspiracy and made Sant Ravidas ji captive and further enforced his followers in the work of skinning, making leather, making shoes, which have always been forbidden among Hindus. In order to humiliate the Kshatriyas of the Chanwar dynasty, this wicked Islamic ruler spoiled their name and addressed him as Chamar. It is said the first use of the word Chamar started from here. These lines of Sant Ravidas Ji Maharaj describe the atrocities of Sikandar Lodhi.

Ved dharm sabase bada, anupam sachcha gyaan
Fir main kyon chhodoon ise padh loon jhooth quraan
Ved dharm chhodoon nahin kosis karo hajaar
Til-til kaato chaahee godo ang kataar

Meaning: Veda Dharma is the greatest, unique true knowledge
Then why should I leave it and read it the false quran
I will not give up Veda Dharma, you may try a thousand times
Wether you cut my body into small pieces or pierce me by daggers

On receiving the news of the arrest of Ravidas ji, the Kshatriyas of the Chanwar dynasty, rushed to Delhi and blockaded the city of Delhi. Thus being compelled, Sultan Sikandar Lodi had to release Sant Ravidas ji. There is no mention of this endeavur in not mentioned the history books, but these lines of Sant Ravidas ji’s book Ravidas Ramayana reveal the truth;

Badashah ne vachan uchaara , mat pyaadara isalaam hamaara .
Khandan karai use ravidaasa , use karau praan kau naasha .
Jab tak raam naam rat laave , daana paanee yah nahin paave .
Jab Islaam dharm sveerakaare , mukh se kalama aap uchaarai .
Padhe namaaj jabhee chitalaee , daana paanee tab yah paee .

Meaning: The emperor said the accept our beloved religion of Islam.
But Sant Ravidas rebutted him , Then King wanted to put Sant to death.
Sultan sai dthat till the time Sant Ravidas keeps on chanting the name of ‘Ram’ dont give him any food or water..
Only when he accepts Islam religion. and reads Islamic kalama.
Reads Namaz with his heart then only provide him with food or water.

Just as the Islamic rulers used to make every effort to convert Hindus into Muslims in that period, they are doing so even today. We had great thinkers like Sant Ravidas who inspired the Dalits during that period who were willing to lay down their lives but did not agree to renounce Vedas and did not accept Quran.

But on the contrary, today’s Dalit politicians are ignoring the culture and austerity of their forefathers for their petty benefits. They are trying to break the Hindu society to smaller fragments. Let us learn from Dr. Ambedkar who did not accept Islam and Christianity even after many temptations.
