राग रसोई पगड़ी कभी-कभी बन जाय-हिंदी कहावत

होली के अवसर पर मेरे नानाजी ने घरवालों की फोटो भेजने को कहा। मैंने अपनी सपत्नीक बच्चों सहित सपरिवार होली खेलते हुए तस्वीर भेजी। बच्चे खूब ज्यादा ही उत्साह में दिख रहे थे। शायद तस्वीर देखकर नानाजी को बहुत ही आत्मीय आनंद प्राप्त हुआ।काफी समय बाद बच्चों की फोटो उन्होंने देखी थी। प्रत्युत्तर में उन्होंने लिख भेजा “राग रसोई पगड़ी कभी कभी बन जाए”।

मैं समझ नहीं पाया कि इसका क्या मतलब है … आखिर मैंने पूछ ही लिया नानाजी से..

उत्तर में जो उन्होंने बताया वो इस प्रकार है ::

राग = संगीत की धुन

रसोई = सब जानते हैं रोज बनाया जाने वाला खाना

पगड़ी = पगड़ियां जो हमारे पिछली पीढ़ी के लोग गावों में सर पर बांधते थे। ये धूप से बचाने के अलावा सामाजिक शान सम्मान का भी प्रतीक होता था।

फिर उन्होंने समझाया की जैसे संगीत की धुनें हमेशा बनती रहती हैं, लेकिन कोई -कोई धुन या गाना बहुत ही हिट हो जाता है।

रसोई घर में औरते रोज ही बनती हैं, लेकिन कभी-कभी खाना बहुत ही अच्छा बन जाता है

और लोग पगड़ी रोज हमेशा ही बांधते थे, लेकिन कभी -कभी पगड़ी बहुत ही अच्छी बन जाती है ….

वैसे ही जब कभी-कभी कोई चीज बहुत ही अच्छी बन पड़े तो ये कहावत सटीक बैठती है

“राग रसोई पगड़ी कभी-कभी बन जाय”

धन्यवाद नानाजी को, आज एक नया ज्ञान प्राप्त हुआ…कहावत सिर्फ कहावत ही नहीं सामायिक सामाजिक जीवन का भी प्रतिबिम्ब होते हैं. वही इस कहावत में भी परिलक्षित है।

राजस्थानी में इस कहावत को इस प्रकार कहा गया है

“राग, रसोई, पागड़ी , कदे-कदे बण जाय“

सुर, भोजन और पगड़ी कभी कभी सही बन ही जाती है।

Raag Rasoi Pagadi Kabhi Kabhi Ban Jaay

On the occasion of Holi, my maternal grandfather asked to send photos of my family. I sent a picture of my wife and children playing Holi . The children were looking very happy and excited in photo. Nanaji saw the photos of the grandchildren after a very long time. In response, he said “Raag Rasoi Pagri Kabhi Kabhi Ban Jaye”.

I couldn’t understand what it meant… finally I asked Nanaji..

What he told in reply is as follows::

Raga = Musical melody

Rasoi(Kitchen) = Refers to the food we prepare daily in our kitchen

Pagadi(Turban) = Turbans that our previous generation used to tie on the head in the villages. Apart from protecting it from the scorching sun, it was also a symbol of social dignity and respect.

Then he explained that like the tunes of music are always made, but only some tunes or song becomes a big hit.

Women cook everyday in the kitchen, but sometimes the food turns out to be very good.

And people tie turban everyday, but only sometimes turban turns out very nice….

In the same way, sometimes when something turns out to be exceptionally good, then this proverb holds true.

“Raag Rasoee Pagadee Kabhee-Kabhee Ban Jaay””

Thanks to Nanaji, I got a new knowledge today… proverbs are not only proverbs but also a reflection of social life. The same is reflected in this proverb as well.

In Rajasthani this proverb is said as follows

“Raag Rasoee Paagadee Kade-Kade Ban Jaay””
