Hindustan Unilever is a subsidiary of British-Dutch company Unilever. During March 2019 Hindustan Unilever faced a major backlash on social media after posting an ad on Twitter with insulting comments regarding Kumbh Mela & Hindus. The tweet was as follows:
“Kumbh Mela is a place where the old get abandoned, isn’t it sad that we do not care for our elders? Red Label encourages us to hold the hands of those who made us who we are. Watch the heartwarming video; an eye opener to a harsh reality
As if one mistake was not enough they circulated another Advertisement on Holi , hurting Hindu sentiments. Surely some twisted brain was behind this series of anti-Hindu advertisements.
I have stopped buying HUL products since then. In the vi We are sure that there are a lot of people like me who do not want to buy HUL products now on or at least for the duration unless HUL mend their ways.
Since the anger seems to be specifically detergent section of HUL. We have prepared a list of some good alternatives for HUL products. Be vigilant while buying as HUL has many Flagship brands like Wheel etc.
To help the Hindus refrain from HUL detergent products, we have found out some alternatives which do not belong to HUL or its subsidiaries:
