भावार्थ: जिस प्रकार गंदे कपास से सुन्दर वस्त्र नहीं बन सकता है-कबीर ज्ञान की बात कहते है की हमें स्वणं और स्त्री दोनो का लगाव त्यागना चाहिये।
Meaning: Dirty cotton cannot weave beautiful cloth. Sacrifice gold and woman, if you seek wisdom, so says Kabir.
कबीर नारी की प्रीति से, केटे गये गरंत
केटे और जाहिंगे, नरक हसंत हसंत।
Kabir naari ki priti se kete gaye garant
Kete aur jahinge, narak hasant hasant.
भावार्थ: कबीर का कथन है की नारी से प्रेम के कारण अनेक लोग बरबाद हो गये और अभी बहुत सारे लोग हंसते-हंसते नरक जायेंगे।
Meaning: Kabir says many have been ruined due to the love for women. Many more will go to the hell laughing all the way through.
कबीर मन मिरतक भया, इंद्री अपने हाथ
तो भी कबहु ना किजिये, कनक कामिनि साथ।
Kabir man mirtak bhaya,indri apne haath
To bhi kabahun na kijiye,kanak kamini saath.
भावार्थ: कबीर कहते है की अगर तुम्हारी इच्छायें मन मर चुका हो और तुम्हारी बिषय भोगों की इन्द्रियाॅ भी तुम्हारे हाथ में नियंत्रित हों तब भी तुम धन और नारी का साथ मत करो।
Meaning: Kabir says even if the mind is dead and senses are in the control of hands. Even then you should never keep the company of both wealth and woman.
कलि मंह कनक कामिनि, ये दौ बार फांद
इनते जो ना बंधा बहि, तिनका हूॅ मै बंद।
Kali manh kanak kamini,ye dou bar fand
Inte jo na bandha bahi,tinka hun mai band.
भावार्थ: कलियुग में जो धन और स्त्री के मोह मे नहीं फंसा है-भगवान उसके हृदय से बंधे हुये है क्योंकि ये दोनों माया मोह के बड़े फंदे है।
Meaning: In the age of kaliyug, wealth and woman are the two great traps. I am bound to one who is not bound with these.
शंकर हु ते सबल है, माया येह संसार
अपने बल छुटै नहि, छुटबै सिरजनहार।
Shankar hu te sabal hai,maya yeh sansar
Apne bal chhutai nahi,chhutbai Sirjanhar.
भावार्थ: यह संसार एक माया है जो शंकर भगवान से भी अधिक बलवान है। यह स्वंय आप के प्रयास से कभी नहीं छुट सकता है। केवल प्रभु ही इससे आपको उवार सकते है।
Meaning: This world is an illusion, even mightier than Lord Shankar. You can not get rid of this illusion on your own. Only the creator can get you rid of it.
संतो खायी रहत है, चोरा लिनहि जाये
कहै कबीर विचारी के, दरगाह मिलि है आये।
Santo khayee rahat hai,chora linhi jaye
Kahai Kabir vichari ke,dargah mili hai aaye.
भावार्थ: संतो पर किया गया धन का खर्च बचा रहता है। शेष धन चोर ले जाता है। कबीर का सुविचारित मत है की धर्म सतकर्म पर खर्च किया गया धन प्रभु के दरवार में वापस मिल जाता है।
Meaning: The wealth spent on saints remains, rest all is taken away by the thieves. The wealth spent in for good reasons, returns back in when one rests in final abode.
सब पापन का मूल है, ऐक रुपैया रोके
साधुजन संग्रह करै, हरै हरि सा ठोके।
Sab papan ka mool hai,ek rupaiya roke
Sadhujan sangrah karai, harai Hari sa thoke.
भावार्थ: विलासिता हेतु एक रुपये का संचय भी पाप का मूल कारण है।परमेश्वर अपने सम्पुर्ण कोष संतो के संग्रह हेतू सब कुछ समर्पित कर देते है।
भावार्थ: Saving even a rupee is the basis of all vice. Whatever small amount is saved by saints, that also is lost in large amount in terms of God.
नागिन के तो दोये फन, नारी के फन बीस
जाका डसा ना फिर जीये, मरि है बिसबा बीस।
Nagin ke to doye fun,nari ke fun bees
Jaka dasa na fir jeeye,mari hai bisba bees.
भावार्थ: सांप के केवल दो फंन होते है पर स्त्री के बीस फंन होते है।स्त्री के डसने पर कोई जीवित नहीं बच सकता है। बीस लोगों को काटने पर बीसों मर जाते है।
Meaning:A snake has two hoods,a woman has twenty hoods. If she stings one, there is no chance to survive.
कामिनि काली नागिनि, तीनो लोक मंझार
राम सनेही उबरै, विषयी खाये झार।
Kamini kaali nagini,teeno lok manjhar
Ram sanehi ubrai,vishyi khaye jhar.
भावार्थ: एक औरत काली नागिन है जो तीनों लोकों में व्याप्त है। परंतु राम का प्रेमी व्यक्ति उसके काटने से बच जाता है। वह विषयी लोभी लोगों को खोज-खोज कर काटती है।
Meaning: A woman is black viper in all the three worlds. An affectionate of Ram is saved, a lustful sensual falls prey to the ever searching snake.
कामिनि सुन्दर सर्पिनी, जो छेरै तिहि खाये
जो हरि चरनन राखिया, तिनके निकट ना जाये।
Kamini sundar sarpini,jo chherey tihi khaye
Jo Hari charnan rachiya,tinke nikat na jaye.
भावार्थ: नारी एक सुन्दर सर्पिणी की भांति है। उसे जो छेरता है उसे वह खा जाती है।पर जो राम के चरणों मे रमा है उसके नजदीक भी वह नहीं जाती है।
Meaning: A lady is a beautiful snake, who so excites is eaten by her. She does not even go near to one who is lost in God’s feet.
नारी पुरुष की स्त्री, पुरुष नारी का पूत
यहि ज्ञान विचारि के, छारि चला अवधूत।
Nari purush ki istri,purush nari ka poot
Yahi gyan vichari ke,chhari chala awdhoot.
भावार्थ: एक नारी पुरुष की स्त्री होती है। एक पुरुष नारी का पुत्र होता है।इसी ज्ञान को विचार कर एक संत अवधूत कामिनी से विरक्त रहता है।
Meaning: A woman is the wife of man, man is the son of woman. Sensing this wisdom, an ascetic leaves and passes on his way.
कामी कबहु ना हरि भजय, मिटय ना संशय सूल
और गुनाह सब बखशी है, कामी दल ना मूल।
Kami kabahu na Hari bhajay,mitay na sanshay shool
Aur gunah sab bakhsi hai,kami dal na mool.
भावार्थ: एक कामी पुरुष कभी भगवान का भजन नहीं करता हैं। उसके भ्रम एंव कष्ट का निवारन कभ्री नहीं होता हैै। अन्य लोगों के पाप को क्षमा किया जा सकता है पर लोभी को कभी मांफी नहीं दी जा सकती है।
Meaning: A sensuous never recites God, his doubts and worries never end. Others sins can be pardoned but a sensuous lustful will have no abode.
गये रोये हंसि खेलि के, हरत सबौं के प्रान
कहै कबीर या घात को, समझै संत सुजान।
Gaaye roye hansi kheli ke, harat sabon ke pran
Kahain Kabir ya ghat ko, samjhay sant sujan.
भावार्थ: गाकर,रोकर, हंसकर या खेल कर नारी सब का प्राण हर लेती है। कबीर कहते है की इसका आघात या चोट केवल संत और ज्ञानी ही समझते है।
Meaning: She snatches the life of all by singing, weeping laughing and playing.Only the saint and the wise can understand the harm and blow of this, so says Kabir.
नारी पुरुष सबही सुनो, येह सतगुरु की साखी
बिस फल फले अनेक है, मति कोई देखो चाखी।
Nari purush sabhi suno,yeh satguru ki sakhi
Bis fal fale anek hai,mati koi dekho chakhi.
भावार्थ: सतगुरु की शिक्षा को सभ्री स्त्री पुरुष सुनलो। बिषय वासना रुपी जहरीले फल को कभी नहीं चखना। ये बिषय वासाना रुपी जहरीले फल अनेका नेक है। इस से तुम बिरक्त रहो।
Meaning: Hear all men and women,this is the lesson of the true Guru. There are many fruits of poison of senses,never taste it anyone.
नारी कहुॅ की नाहरी, नख सिख से येह खाये
जाल बुरा तो उबरै, भाग बुरा बहि जाये।
Nari kahun ki nahri,nakh sikh se yeh khaye
Jal bura to ubrai,bhaag bura bahi jaye.
भावार्थ: इन्हें नारी कहा जाय या शेरनी। यह सिर से पॅूछ तक खा जाती है। पानी में डूबने वाला बच सकता है पर बिषय भोग में डूबने वाला संसार सागर में बह जाता है।
Meaning: Should I call her a woman or tigress,she eats from head to tail. One who drowns in water can perhaps be saved but a man drowned in sexual pleasure can never be saved.
नारी काली उजली, नेक बिमासी जोये
सभी डरे फंद मे, नीच लिये सब कोये।
Nari kali ujali,nek bimasi joye
Sabhi dare fand me,neech liye sab koye.
भावार्थ: स्त्री काली गोरी भली बुरी जो भी हो सब वासना के फंदे में फांसती है और तब भी एक नीच व्यक्ति हमेशा उसे अपने साथ कखता है।
Meaning: A woman black or white, good or bad. All bind in trappings,it degenerates man if he keeps her company.
केता बहाया बहि गया, केता बहि बहि जाये
एैसा भेद विचारि के, तु मति गोता खाये।
Keta bahaya bahi gaya,keta bahi bahi jaye
Aaisa bhed vichari ke,tu mati gota khaye.
भावार्थ: कितने लोग इस भव सागर मे बह गये और अभी भी कितने बह रहे है।इस रहस्य पर विचार करो। तुम इस बिषय वासना में डूबकी मत लगाओ।
Meaning: Many have been drowned and swept away,many are still being swept. Thinking of this mystery, its better you don’t take a dive.
चलो चलो सब कोये कहै, पहुचै बिरला कोये
ऐक कनक औरु कामिनि, दुरगम घाटी दोये।
chalo chalo sab koi kahai,pahuchai birla koye
Ek kanak auru kamini,durgam ghati doye.
भावार्थ: परमात्मा तक जाने के लिये सभी चलो-चलो कहते है पर वहाॅ तक शायद ही कोई पहूॅच पाता है। धन और स्त्री रुपी दो अत्यंत खतरनाक बीहड़ घाटियों को पार कर के ही कोई परमात्मा की शरण में पहूॅच सकता है।
Meaning: ‘Come here, come here’ so calls everyone but someone rarely reaches there. One can reach there only after having crossed the two inaccessible valleys of wealth and woman.
छोटी मोटी कामिनि, सब ही बिष की बेल
बैरी मारे दाव से, येह मारै हंसि खेल।
Chhoti moti kamini,sab hi bish ki bel
Bairi mare daw se,yeh marai hansi khel.
भावार्थ: स्त्री छोटी बड़ी सब जहर की लता है। दुश्मन दाव चाल से मारता है पर स्त्री हंसी खेल से मार देती है।
Meaning: Small or fat, all woman are creeper of poison. While an enemy beats with trick, she causes death with laughter and play.
नारी नरक ना जानिये, सब सौतन की खान
जामे हरिजन उपजै, सोयी रतन की खान।
Nari narak na janiye, sab santan ki khaan
Jaame harijan upjay, soyee ratan ki khaan.
भावार्थ: नारी को नरक मत समझो। वह सभी संतों की खान है। उन्हीं के द्वारा भगवत पुरुषों कि उत्पत्ति होती है और वे ही रत्नों की खान है। प्रभु भक्तों को नारी ही जन्म देती है।
Meaning: Don’t think of women as hell, she is the goldmine of all saints. Its women who gives birth to to the men of God, the women are the mine of jewels.
नारी निन्दा ना करो, नारी रतन की खान
नारी से नर होत है, ध्रुब प्रहलाद समान।
Nari ninda na karo, nari ratan ki khaan
Nari se nar hot hai, Dhrub Prahlad samaan.
भावार्थ: नारी की निन्दा मत करो। नारी अनेक रत्नों की खान है। नारी से ही पुरुष के उत्पत्ति होती है। घ्रुब और प्रहलाद भी किसी नारी की ही देन है।
Meaning: Never defame a women. A women is the mine of jewels. All men comes out of woman, Dhrub Prahlad alike.
नारी निरखि ना देखिये, निरखि ना कीजिये दौर
देखत ही ते बिस चढ़ै, मन आये कछु और।
Nari nirakhi na dekhiye,nirakhi na kijay daur
Dekhat hi te bish chadhai,man aaye kachhu aur.
भावार्थ: नारी को कभी घूर कर मत देखो। देख कर भी उसके पीछे मत दौड़ो।उसे देखते ही बिष चढ़ने लगता है और मन में अनेक प्रकार के बिषय विकार गंदे विचार आने लगते है।
Meaning: Don’t see any woman with consideration, don’t run after her in lust. Its only on seeing that bad thoughts start coming and the poison rises.
नारी मदन तलाबरी, भव सागर की पाल
नर मच्छा के कारने, जीवत मनरी जाल।
Nari madan talabari,bhav sagar ki paal
Nar machha ke karne,jeevat manri jaal
भावार्थ: नारी वासना का तालाव और इस भव सागर में डूबने से रक्षा हेतु पाल है।यह नर रुपी मछली को फंसाने का जाल डाला गया है।
Meaning: The woman is a tank of lust, a shelter to sail this worldly sea. Women has been created as a fish net to trap men.
नारी सेती नेह, बुधि विवेक सभी हरै
बृथा गबावै देह, कारज कोई ना सरै।
Nari seti neh,budhi vivek sabhi harai
Britha gabawai deh karaj kouee na sarai
भावार्थ: स्त्री से वासना रुपी प्रेम करने में बुद्धि और विवके का हरण होता है। शरीर भी बृथा बेकार होता है और जीवन के भलाई का कोई भी कार्य सफल नहीं होता है।
Meaning: With the sexual love of woman, wisdom and rationality all are lost. Such a man looses body uselessly and succeeds in no work.
परनारी पैनी छुरी, बिरला बंचै कोये
ना वह पेट संचारिये, जो सोना की होये।
Parnari paini chhuri,birla banchai koye
Na wah pet sanchariye,jo sona ki hoye.
भावार्थ: दुसरो की नारी तेज धार वाली चाकू की तरह है। इस के वार से सायद ही कोई बच पाता है। उसे कभी अपने हृदय में स्थान मत दें-यदि वह सोने की तरह आकर्षक और सुन्दर ही क्यों न हो।
Meaning: Other’s wife is a sharp knife,rarely one is saved. Never keep her in your heart,even if she is attractive like gold.
पर नारी पैनी छुरी, मति कौई करो प्रसंग
रावन के दश शीश गये, पर नारी के संग।
Par nari paini chhuri, mati koyee karo prasang
Ravan ke dash shish gaye,par nari ke sang.
भावार्थ: दुसरो की स्त्री तेज धार वाली चाकू की तरह है। उसके साथ किसी प्रकार का संबंध नहीं रखो।दुसरे के स्त्री के साथ के कारण ही रावण का दश सिर चला गया।
Meaning: Other’s woman is a sharp blade, never keep any affair with her. Raavan lost his ten heads because of the company of other’s woman.
पर नारी के राचनै, सीधा नरकै जाये
तिनको जम छारै नहि, कोटिन करै उपाये।
Par nari ke rachnai,seedha narkai jaye
Tinko jam chharai nahi,kotin karai upaye.
भावार्थ: परायी स्त्री से कभी प्रेम मत करो। वह तुम्हे सीधा नरक ले जायेगी। उसे यम देवता भी नहीं छोड़ता है चाहे तुम कड़ोरो उपाय करलो।
Meaning: Love of other’s woman directly leads to hell. The God of death does not leave him, even if one tries to evade it by all means.
